6 Success Habits You Can Master Today

6 success habits you can master today

Let’s delve deep into what habits are needed for success and to create the life you want. Success habits are a recipe for the achievement of goals. If you get these 6 things right, you will be well on your way to success-town.

Each success habit is coupled with a question to get you started today.

I have detailed my answers in a separate document that you can download at the bottom of this post.

I assure you that if you nail down these 6 habits you’ll fast-track success:

1. Know what you want

You can’t expect to get what you want if you haven’t decided what that is. You need to sit your butt down, grab a pen and write it down. Close your eyes and imagine what you want your life to look like in 2 years, 5 years or 10 years. Write down what you see, what you are doing, who you’re surrounded by and how you feel. You can call this your vision, dream life or life plan.

Question: What do you want your life to look like in 2 years?

2. Feel a burning desire

You need to want it deep down in your gut. You need to be serious about your desire. Look at what it is that you want and think about why you have chosen that specifically. You have to feel it at your core. You want that desire to be so strong that it radiates from you. To create a desire that strong, you need to know why you want it. Plaster your why across your vision board or stick it on a post-it on your mirror.

Question: Why do you want it? Write this in capital letters!

3. Map out a plan

What are the smaller steps that you will need to take to achieve your vision. Break each part of your vision down into smaller, actionable steps. The best time to start was yesterday, the next best time is today. Map out exactly how you will get there in a notebook, on your computer or in a Google spreadsheet.

Question: What are the steps you need to take this year? Write them down!

4. Be consistent

Consistency is key. Being consistent means dedicated action on a daily basis. A woodcutter targets his efforts at the same spot over and over. The woodcutter does not expect the tree to fall after one swing but consistently chips away at the wood until the tree finally falls down. Are you working hard or hardly working?

Question: What are the steps you need to take daily? Write them down!

5. Turn up the trust

At times it may feel as if you are not getting any closer to your goals. You may believe that things are not moving fast enough, everyone is out to get you or nothing good ever happens to you. These beliefs are of no use in achieving your goals. Trust that everything is happening as it is meant to and there is no need to hurry the process.

Have faith that everything is happening at precisely the right moment!

Question: What beliefs are holding you back? Write them down so you are aware.

6. Master your mindset

Your mindset is the way you view the world. What would be the most productive mindset to be in? How can you re-work the way you view the world to maximise your results. It is important to catch limiting beliefs as they come up and shift to a positive outlook. For example, rather than believing that you are not capable of success, instead believe that you are capable of learning what is required to be successful.

Carve out some time to listen to my mindset meditation that will set you up for a successful day every morning.

Question: How can you move past your mindset blocks? Listen to the free audio to shift your mindset and start your day off with success in mind.

What are your biggest blocks to achieving success?

We all have them so let’s write them down so we are aware of them. Your comment may help someone else so share your story in the comments.

  • This is a great reminder that we have the power to succeed, if only we turn it on! Consistency and discipline are the hardest habits for me to master. But I think knowing where I struggle is half the battle. Now it’s something I make a priority of every day! Thanks for this article!

    • That is so great to hear, Rebecca! Well done! Awareness is definitely the first step. Now that consistency and discipline are a priority, could you tell us your methods/techniques/tips that you are using to improve?

    • Right now I am focusing on pairing effectiveness with a minimal stress lifestyle (which can be an incredible challenge). I used an app called Clear to keep me organized. I make sure I complete a certain number of tasks each day. All of my tasks fall under one of four categories: family, self-care, business, and household. I remind myself everyday that it doesn’t matter how much or how little I do in each category every day, as long as I do something! That way I will consistently be moving toward my goals without burning myself out (and I still have quality time to spend with my beautiful one-year son and supportive husband).
