Where did you grow up and what was it like?

I grew up, an only child, in Pretoria, South Africa in the 80’s and 90’s. Things were pretty simple back then. The town was safe, and us kids could ride our bikes to each other’s houses. We were very active kids, playing in the park, the garden – ALWAYS OUTSIDE. Sports were a big part of my life.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A ballerina. I was obsessed with Ballet.

I had ballet posters all over my room, watched video tapes of all the great classics, and practised whenever I could. You would see me choreographing dances (at that stage to nursery rhymes) whilst under the carport with my little white ‘boombox’ always by my side.

Who is your business for?

Women who are sick and tired of handing over their healing power to others. Women who want to empower themselves to love the life that they know they deserve. If you know that there is more out there, and are ready to find out what that MORE is… then I’m for you! (Also, when I say women, I mean men as well).

Have you had setbacks and how did you get through those?

Oh my word YES! I had a very difficult childhood. My parents’ separation and divorces (yes! plural) saw my wee years quite ‘heavy’. I was forced to mature very young as I had a huge responsibility to take care of myself emotionally. My parents did all that they knew how at the time, it just sometimes wasn’t what I needed.

What do you feel most proud of?

That I am normal! Ha. Seriously, that I empowered myself to tap into my inner POWER, trusting that the universe has my back. I have always made decisions from my gut, and so far, I am thriving. No-one has ever gotten me down for long. I am super-resilient and forgiving (those are my superpowers).

Who are 3 people everyone should follow online?

Alice Nicholls, Tara Bliss and Gabby Bernstein

What are your 3 best tips to ensure your body and mind stay healthy?

Meditate daily – for however long works for you.

Keep hydrated – herbal tea’s and water.

Sleep! I truly believe that all the worlds issues could be solved if leaders got enough sleep.

What does a normal day look like for you?

Up at 6am, meditate.

I start work at 7am, which is a culmination of study (Health Coaching), and working on my business.

I also teach Barre (a yoga, ballet and pilates infusion), and so three days a week I traipse on into the studio. Collaborating with inspiring women in my industry lights me up. So I will often set up ‘working together days’ where we can hang out and work in the same space together.

It breaks up the long days of working on your own, and also brings back that human connection when I am not seeing clients. At the moment, I have stopped taking on any holistic healing clients, as I am working on a new program which is going to be launched in November, so most of my time is spent writing and developing. Exciting stuff!

Quick-fire questions

Guilty pleasure:
 Coffee.

Most grateful for:
My little itty bitty family – my hubby and Marvin, our little mini-dacshund.

Favourite personal development book:
How do I choose? Um… Right now I am reading Marianne Williamson’s Return to Love, as well as Danielle La Porte’s The FireStarter Sessions. Both AMAZING BOOKS. Brene Brown’s Daring Greatly changed my life. Oops!
Those are three (I’m a bit of a book nerd!)
Best app ever:
Audible. (There’s that book nerd in me again).

Favourite quote:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.” – Marianne Williamson

Best advice you ever received:
“Trust your gut” (I think my higher self gave that gem to me) and “It will pass”.

Two reasons you rock:

(I asked my husband to answer these so thank you for presenting these questions to me).
1. I am extremely dedicated and loyal. That applies to projects and tasks, and also to those people around me. Friends, Family, Clients.
2. I am passionate and energetic, so much so, that it’s contagious. Those who are in my presence are drawn into my energy, and automatically become passionate about what I’m talking about.
